Katey Sagal
Katey Sagal was a versatile and talented
performer who could do comedy and drama. In the 1980s, she became a household
favorite as Peg Bundy in the Fox series Married... with Children (1987). The
show was awarded two American Comedy Awards and three Golden Globes throughout
the show's long run. As popular and identifiable as her Peg Bundy persona was,
Katey assertively moved on after the show went off the air, not only starring
in other sitcoms and television movies as well as portraying characters that
were polar opposites to the outrageous character that first earned her
nationwide recognition. In 2008, she played the role in the role of Gemma
Teller Morrow (the matriarch of a Hell's Angels-like California biker group) on
Sons of Anarchy (2008). Her portrayal won her a Golden Globe Award in 2011 for
Best Performance by an Actress on the TV Series Drama. Catherine Louise Sagal,
the daughter and director of Sara Zwilling and Boris Sagal were born 19th
January 1954. Los Angeles native, Catherine Louise Sagal started performing at
the age of five. She later studied acting and voice at the California Institute
of the Arts in Valencia. She worked as a waitress who sang during her
"salad" years. After performing in "The Group With No name,"
she got a break when she teamed up with Gene Simmons and KISS, a 1970s rock
band. She gained valuable experience while working as a backup singer to
Simmons, Etta Jones, Tanya Tucker, and Olivia Newton-John. When Bette performed
her avant-garde stage productions in the late 1970s and into the early 1980s
she was a dynamic performer as a live performer alongside Bette Midler.
