Watts, born 28 September 1968 was an British actress from the UK. She made her
film debut in Australia in For Love Alone (1986), followed by three television
shows: Hey Dad.. (1990), Brides of Christ (911) and Home and Away (1991) and
Flirting (1991). Watts relocated to America in the year 2000. She struggled
initially as an actress. In reality she only managed to take minor roles in
films prior to becoming a aspiring actress in David Lynch's Mulholland Drive
psychological thriller. Her rise to fame on the international stage was brought
about by this part. Watts was a depressed journalist in The Ring, a horror film
that was remade. Because of her performance as grieving mother in Alejandro
film 21 Grams, she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress. Her
profile continued to grow through her starring roles in I Heart Huckabees
(2004), King Kong (2005), Eastern Promises (2007), and The International
(2009). Watts was also nominated for the Academy Award as Best Actress for her
performance in The Impossible (2012). In the decade of 2010, Watts was in films
such as Birdman (2014) St. Vincent (2014) St. Vincent (2015), While We're Young
(2016), The Glass Castle (2017) and Luce (2018). Watts was also a star in blockbuster
film, appearing in Divergent (2015)-2016.
