ALEX MORGAN BIO

Morgan was born on July 2nd, 1989 (Alex Morgan age: 30) to Pamela and Michael Morgan. They raised her along with her two sisters, Jeni and Jeri, in the Los Angeles suburb of Diamond Bar. Morgan enjoyed many sports as a child, but only started to play soccer when she was 14 years old. Morgan then became a member of the Cypress Elite club team, winning the Coast Soccer League under-16 championship and finishing in third in the under-19 bracket. Morgan continued to develop her soccer skills while at Diamond Bar High School. The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) has selected Morgan to be an All-American Athlete. She also participated in the Olympic Development Division's state and regional divisions. Morgan continued her career in soccer at UC Berkeley where she was the California Golden Bears' leading scorer from her first season. Morgan was instrumental in getting the team to the NCAA Tournament every year and twice making it to the second round. Morgan was one of the four finalist for the Honda Sports Award. She also became the first Hermann Trophy finalist from her school. Morgan was a graduate in 2010 and had the third highest amount of goals and points for Berkeley. Morgan was a soccer player at the collegiate as well as national levels throughout her time at school. During her first year on the Berkeley team, Morgan experienced an ACL injury that kept her from training with the U.S. under-20 women's soccer team until April 2008. In Mexico, Morgan scored her first international soccer goal during the CONCACAF Women's U-20 Championship. Morgan played in the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. The team was awarded a gold medal and she scored her first international goal during the CONCACAF Women's United 20 Championship in Mexico. One of these was a goal to win against Italy which earned the U.S. team a final spot at the 2011 World Cup. Morgan was the youngest member of the team, and he was the captain of the U.S. team to victory against France. Morgan was the youngest player on the team, and helped them win against Japan.
